What specific actions has your school taken in the name of conservation?

Do teachers in your school leave their lights on at night?  Are computers left on all day?  What does your school to do reduce it's carbon footprint?

Some schools in NYC turn the heat on in May in order to consume the oil and avoid a cut in their budget. Air conditioners run through the night in lighted rooms and they throw away massive amounts of paper rather than recycling. Despite how irrational this sounds, it is an unfortunate reality.

In contrast, some schools are very focused on lowering their energy consumption.  Many building supervisors would appreciate advice and tips on how to lower their consumption of energy. With this in mind, please share some ideas of how your schools work toward sustainability and conservation.
